THE FACILITY – Len Ross Junior Golf Learning Center
1604 S. Teilman, Fresno, CA 93706 which is off of Kearney Boulevard across from Chandler Airport between Fruit and West adjacent to Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control Basin (FF).
For many years, the dream of our Foundation has been to have a FREE junior golf learning center for ALL juniors (Our goal is to include the physically challenged and the blind.) We wish to especially include boys and girls who are not financially able to afford the expense of learning the game of golf. “Equipment furnished by the Learning Center”. Instead of our having to go to the various schools for clinics, the juniors can come to us at the Center with golf instructors, progressive teaching aids, including bunkers, putting greens, driving range, video equipment, library, etc.
The facility is strategically situated in an area to capture a large portion of the neighborhood kids.
Approximately 100 yards to the south of the facility is a public transportation bus route. To the east and west of the facility are two elementary schools. From either school, a child would have less than a three-block walk to the facility.
We are closed during the months of December, January and February when the basin is filled with water, and we reopen when the basin is dry enough to be used for our tractor to pick up the range balls.
Since our facility is completely free to all boys and girls who have not reached their 18th birthday, we must depend solely on grants and donations. There are no fees or membership dues. We have one Executive Program Director with the remainder of the Directors who donate their time and expertise.
